For the gCalcD all in one Calculator: From the drop-down lists, if necessary, select Function, Parametric Curve, Equation or Point Set and select Coordinate System: Cartesian or Polar in which you want to graph.

For a gCalcD grapher: Select Cartesian or Polar Coordinate System.

To graph a function, parametric curve or equation or to plot points type in the formula and press Draw Graph (or press Enter on the keyboard).

To graph two or more of the above on the same coordinate plane first press Draw Multiple Graphs. Then enter the number of functions or parametric curves or equations or point sets in the new window opened, type in the formulae, and press Graph All.

To find the roots of the function f(x) (that is to solve the one-variable equation f(x) = 0), press the Solve f(x) = 0 button.

Calculus To calculate the derivatives of a function f(x) press the f'(x), f''(x),… button. The first few derivatives of the function will appear on a new window. Press Calculate next order derivative to calculate higher order derivatives. By pressing the Graph f, f' or the Graph f, f', f'' buttons the graphs of the function and its derivatives are drawn on the main applet.

You can use your mouse to do the following:

Drag the coordinate plane with your mouse (left key pressed) to view the required graph region.

Double-click in the coordinate plane of the Grapher to move the origin to the point where you have clicked.

Change the scales: hold down Ctrl key and click a point on an axis to change the scale on that axis. The point you have clicked on will become the new unit and labeled 1 and the graphs are re-drawn.

Rotate the axes: hold down Alt key, click on an axis and drag the axis circularly with your mouse (left key pressed). This will rotate that axis and enable you to visualize the graphs in non-orthogonal coordinate systems.
