gCalcD: Rotating the Axes
The gCalcD is the only known graphing calculator that allows rotation of axes. By rotating an axis you can visualize the graph of a given function, parametric curve or equation in non-perpendicular coordinate systems. You can rotate the axes either by entering data or by using your mouse.
- Enter the angles by which you want to rotate an axis and press the Rotate button. The axis (or axes)will rotate and the graphs will be re-drawn to reflect the rotation.
- Or using your mouse:
To rotate an axis hold down the Alt key and press the mouse button on the axis and away from the origin (this will select the axis and the color of the axis changes to red) and drag the mouse circularly. The selected axis will rotate accordingly, and the graphs are continuously re-drawn to reflect the rotation of the axis.
If you do the same as above but near the origin, all axes will be rotated at the same time
To re-store the coordinate system to its normal state press the Reset button.
